During our stay in Mexico City our friend Jack invited us to join him, his sister and brother-in-law, Olga & Ted, and friends Thomas and Chino to Cuernavaca. A beautiful colonial town located about an hour and a half south of Mexico City. It has been the summer home for Aztec emperors, the European conquerer Cortes, and many of Mexico’s elite. What a charming city.
We took in some of the local wildlife (hola Gordo! Let me tell you, this dog is probably more famous than even his owner Jack!)
We only spent one night in the city so can’t do it justice, but we would highly recommend walking around the city streets, visiting the street vendors, local restaurants, some photos at Palacio de Cortes, and definitely a trip for brunch and walking the grounds (maybe even a stay?) at the Hotel & Spa Hacienda de Cortes. Absolutely beautiful.
Our new friends Thomas & Chino had us over to their home for drinks and dinner. Thomas is French and cooked a wonderful Moroccan dish, all while enjoying the hospitality and beauty of Mexico. It doesn’t get much more international then that!
BIG thanks to Jack, Thomas, Chino, Ted, Olga (and Gordo!) for making our time in Mexico so special!
