🇺🇸Pedro and I joined our friends Peter & Victor for a river cruise from Budapest to Bucharest with the travel group BrandG on the Amadeus Queen. This was our first river cruise together (I had done one before down the Nile) and our first time south on the Danube. The reason behind the trip was to celebrate our friends Doug & Don’s 50th anniversary!
🇵🇹Pedro e eu nos juntamos aos nossos amigos Peter & Victor para um cruzeiro no rio de Budapeste a Bucareste com o grupo de viagens BrandG na rainha Amadeus. Este foi nosso primeiro cruzeiro no rio juntos (eu já havia feito um antes no Nilo) e nossa primeira vez no sul do Danúbio. O motivo da viagem foi celebrar o 50º aniversário de nossos amigos Doug & Don!
🇺🇸We spent a few nights pre-cruise in the city of Budapest which was celebrating Saint Stephens Day, a religious and patriot celebration. We were entertained with street fairs, air force fly-bys, nighttime fireworks and even our first night-time drone swarm (very cool). Budapest is beautiful, but at nighttime, it is truly breathtaking!
🇵🇹Passamos algumas noites antes do cruzeiro na cidade de Budapeste, que estava comemorando o Dia de Santo Estêvão, uma celebração religiosa e patriota. Ficamos entretidos com feiras de rua, sobrevoos da força aérea, fogos de artifício noturnos e até mesmo nosso primeiro enxame de drones noturnos (muito legal). Budapeste é linda, mas à noite é realmente de tirar o fôlego!
🇺🇸We had plenty of day time sightseeing throughout the city, beautiful rooftop bars, a nice lunch at the New York Cafe, and also a cool scooter ride in the beautiful park Margitsziget (Margaret) Island. Highly recommended!
🇵🇹Tivemos muitas visitas diurnas por toda a cidade, belos bares na cobertura, um bom almoço no New York Cafe e também um passeio de scooter no belo parque Margitsziget (Margaret) Island. Altamente recomendado!
🇺🇸So after our days in Budapest it was off to the River Cruise. The Lower Danube is a little desolate compared with the upper Danube and the cities are more like towns, but the ship was great and of course the company was superb. We had stops in: Vukovar, Croatia; Belgrade, Serbia; Iron Gates river cruising and locks; Svistov, Bulgaria; St. George Village, Romania.
🇵🇹Então, depois de nossos dias em Budapeste, partimos para o cruzeiro no rio. O Baixo Danúbio é um pouco desolado em comparação com o Alto Danúbio e as cidades são mais como cidades, mas o navio era ótimo e, claro, a empresa era excelente. Tivemos paradas em: Vukovar, Croácia; Belgrado, Sérvia; Iron Gates cruzeiros e eclusas no rio; Svistov, Bulgária; St. George Village, Romênia.
🇺🇸As mentioned earlier, the purpose and highlight of the entire trip was to join in celebrating our friends Doug & Don’s 50th anniversary! 50 Years! I still get a little speechless when I say it. The only thing that could be more special are the two men that make up this beautiful relationship, Doug and Don. Thank you for including us in this most special occasion!
🇵🇹Como mencionado anteriormente, o objetivo e o destaque de toda a viagem foi celebrar o 50º aniversário de nossos amigos, Doug & Don! 50 anos! Eu ainda fico um pouco sem palavras quando digo isso. A única coisa que poderia ser mais especial são os dois homens que compõem esse lindo relacionamento, Doug e Don. Obrigado por nos incluir nesta ocasião mais especial!
🇺🇸As we wrapped our river cruise we disembarked in Bucharest which I think was a more positive surprise to all of us than what we had previously heard. The city was very vibrant and beautiful and the people were friendly and helpful. Doug and Don treated us to a hoot of a restaurant where we took in some local dancing and also found a wonderful cafe, Blu Margarita, that had numerous vegan dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed.
🇵🇹Ao encerrarmos nosso cruzeiro no rio, desembarcamos em Bucareste, o que acho que foi uma surpresa mais positiva para todos do que o que ouvimos anteriormente. A cidade era muito vibrante e bonita e as pessoas eram amigáveis e prestativas. Doug e Don nos levaram a um barulho de restaurante, onde dançamos algumas danças locais e também encontramos um café maravilhoso, Blu Margarita, que tinha vários pratos veganos que nós apreciamos completamente.
🇺🇸We had wonderful time and enjoyed so much being part of Doug & Don’s special anniversary. We feel very lucky to have such good friends, especially ones that enjoy traveling like we do!
